Scholastic Art Awards

Many Tully JSHS art students submitted their work of different mediums to the Scholastic Art Compeition this past month, and proudly, six students walked away with an award. Chosen from thousands of submissions and nearly 100 schools across the region, the honor is great. Sam Stoogenke and Sierra Yonko entered their ceramic pieces with Stoogenke winning the Silver Key Award with his untitled piece and Yonko winning Honorable Mention with her piece titled "Connie." Jessica Bizub, Ally Gero, and Margaret Picciano all entered the photography division with Bizub's piece, "Woodland Wonderland," Gero's piece, "Nature's Designs," and Picciano's piece, "Bella in Clouds," all taking Honorable Mention. Picciano also received a Silver Key Award for her photograph "Kenz and Ellie Close Up." Ethan Wilson entered the mixed media division and won the Silver Key Award for his piece "Effects of Technology." These students' work will be displayed at the Public Art Show that runs from January 22 through March 1. This will take place at OCC in the Whitney Applied Technology Center. While Tully is proud of all the art students who entered the Scholastic Art Competition, we invite the community to go view and enjoy the award winners' work on the OCC campus. Congratulations Tully art students and teachers!
