Rise and Shout: The Tully Black Knights Were Out and About!
During the week of September 16th, students at the Junior-Senior High School participated in a spirit week, pep rally, and semi-formal dance. The halls were filled with students dressed in their red, white, and blue on ‘Merica Monday, as tourists in tropical gear on Tuesday, sporting pajamas on Wednesday, giving a nod to previous decades on Throwback Thursday, and finally, wearing their best red and black Tully spirit wear for Friday’s pep rally. Tiernan Tobin started off the pep rally singing the National Anthem followed by Mr. Ridgely and the Chamber Choir singing our alma mater. All the fall sports teams were announced throughout the time as well as games played such as a scooter relay, musical chairs, limbo, captain’s quarters, and was ended by an intense tug-of-war between the teachers and seniors! The Jazz Band gave us great tunes with Mr. Votra at the helm as well as DJ Mrs. Brunelle. Mr. Donald was once again our great MC. The cheerleaders did the ever popular 7-3-1 cheer, with students coming off the bleachers onto the gym floor to help create some noise! This year’s king and queen were Ian Byrne and Grace Swan. Various raffle prizes were also given away. A great time was had by all. The fun didn’t stop there, though. Fans watched on as the varsity football team played Mount Markham and then the semi-formal dance was held on Saturday, September 21st in the lobbeteria. The students danced the night away with hits played from DJ Bella J all the while getting their photo taken in the included photo booth by Chucklebooths. It was a fun-filled week and weekend! Thank you to everyone for helping it make a success!
