McAninch Headed to Regional Shakespeare Competition

After nearly three months of extensive practice, six Tully students (James Locke, Tiernan Tobin, Moira McAninch, Nate Cole, Flynn Bruhn, and Carly Bastedo) competed in the school's sixth annual Shakespeare Competition on Monday, January 27. Each student performed a monologue from one of Shakespeare's plays in front of a panel of judges. Mr. Ronnie Bell, Executive Director of the Syracuse Shakespeare Festival; Susan Hoover, retired English teacher from the Syracuse City School District; and Mr. Bill Coughlin, actor, director, and former Tully English teacher, all commended the students for their excellent performances. Moira McAninch took 1st place and will represent Tully at the Regional competition on March 21, 2020 at Syracuse Stage from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Tiernan Tobin, Carly Bastedo, and Nate Cole received second place, third place, and Honorable Mention, respectively. Every student did a commendable job! Please join us in wishing Moira luck on her quest to Nationals and congratulations to all participants!
