Recently, the Tully FFA had a Winter Weekend getaway at Camp Oswegatchie in Croghan. The purpose of the trip was to engage FFA members in the Growing Leaders Division of the FFA Program of Activities, specifically meeting POA quality standards in Leadership, Healthy Lifestyles, and Personal Growth. FFA members enjoyed teambuilding activities, which including untangling a human knot, an egg drop, and making sleds out of a limited amount of materials including only cardboard and tape. They also participated in outdoor activities including using their handcrafted sleds, moonlit hiking where members took time to silently acknowledge the surrounding nature, and snowshoeing, which was a first for many. Members were also responsible for helping prepare or clean up after each meal. Special thanks goes to Beaver River FFA, Carthage FFA Chapter, Lowville FFA, and Camp Oswegatchie.
Students work together to build a functional sled.
