Subscription Databases



What is a database? A database is an organized, searchable collection of information (articles) you might find in magazines, journals, newspapers and reference books (encyclopedias). Unlike searching the Internet, this information is not free so you need passwords to access them. Please stop by the library for the passwords

Reference database covering American History from early exploration to the modern day. Reference articles compiled by an editorial staff and other material gathered from scholars and writers in the field. General era overviews or search by topic.

Search FIVE different databases including Funk and Wagnalls New World Encyclopedia and Primary Search (Junior High level magazine articles).

From this link you may choose to search OVER 30 different databases with descriptions. Here you will find Custom Newspapers (national and international newspapers), Health Reference center (nursing and allied health journals), Fine Arts and Music Collection (magazines and journals), and Twayne Authors Series (discussions of an author's works), just to name a few.

Newsbank
Search the electronic editions of local, regional and national U.S. newspapers by key word or browse newspapers by state.

Proquest
A Multidisciplinary database, search over 2000 periodical titles for anything from general reference to advanced subject matter.

Teen Health & Wellness
Provides students with curricular support and self-help tools on topics including diseases, drugs, alcohol, nutrition, fitness, mental health, diversity, family life, and more.
